Two burnt to death, 35 vehicles razed in Ogun tanker explosion
A driver and motorboy lost their lives in a tanker explosion which occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State around 2a.m on Saturday.
35 vehicles that were parked for sale along the traffic corridor were also destroyed in the inferno, one person was also said to have sustained injury in the explosion.
According to the spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, the diesel-laden tanker fell on its side and spilt its content which later sparked off the fire.
“The driver and the motorboy died in the ensuing inferno that engulfed the scene with about 35 vehicles parked along the traffic corridor for sale burnt down, Akinbiyi said per Punch.
“One injured victim is presently confirmed and he has been taken to Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital, OOUTH, along with the dead victims.”
