Three suspected armed robbers arrested in Ogun State
Three suspected armed robbers have been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command at Idanyin community in Agbara, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
The Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident said the suspects were arrested following a distress call by residents of the community saying the armed robbers have raided their houses, dispossessed them of their belongings and even injured them.
According to Oyeyemi, the suspects identified as Toheed Salami, Ibrahim Ismaila and Michael Abiodun, launched an attack on the police on sighting them but were overpowered by the police, this led to the arrest of three members of the gang while one of them fled.
“Upon the distress call, the DPO , Agbara division, SP Saleh Dahiru, quickly led his anti-robbery team to the scene and met the robbers attacking the residences of one Barrister Kamieyefa Omosivwe and that of Oluyemi Olajide,” Oyeyemi was quoted as saying by DailyPost.
“The injured victim has been taken to the hospital for medical attention, items recovered by the police are two locally made short guns.”
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the Special Anti-Robbery Squads (SARS) for investigation.
