SARS arrests four notorious armed robbers in Ogun State
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested four members of a notorious armed robbery gang who have been terrorising the Mowe/Ofada areas in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.
The suspects identified as Sukanmi Tajudeen, Habeeb Oladimeji, Sunday Akintunde, and Ishola Samson have been on the police’s wanted list until they were eventually arrested.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident through a statement issued on Monday.
“The suspects were arrested following an intelligence report received by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad about the hideout of the gang at Adesan area of Mowe,” Oyeyemi said per Punch.
“On getting the report, the officer-in-charge of SARS, CSP Tijani Muhammed, dispatched his operatives to the area and the hideout was professionally cordoned off for an operation which lasted for about an hour.
“At the end of the operation, the four suspects were apprehended while some members of the gang escaped through the nearby bush.
“Items recovered from them include one locally made triplet barrel pistol, one locally made single barrel pistol, thirteen live cartridges, and one Bajaj motorcycle.
“A manhunt is ongoing for the fleeing members of the gang and other armed bandits in the state.”
