Ogun State to launch entertainment village
Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun said arrangements are in place to partner with a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of the Bankers’ Committee, to inaugurate a multipurpose creative and entertainment village in the state, towards boosting the tourism sector in the country.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, made the disclosure at the 42nd edition of the World Tourism Day tagged ‘Tourism and Jobs: A better future for all’.
Salako-Oyedele reiterated that upon the completion of the entertainment village, it would be first of its kind in Africa.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Selimot Ottun, earlier in her speech said, the purpose of the World Tourism Day was to support policy changes, business practices and behaviour of tourism towards a more sustainable tourism and hospitality sector.
Ogun State parades a few notable attraction to very interesting artefacts and historic sites, the numerous tourist centres and businesses such as the Birikisu Sungbo Shrine, Yemoji Natural Pool, Iwasi Eco-tourism Centre, Ebute Oni Tourist Beach, Olumo Rock, Itoku Adire market, and Eruwon Golf Resort, among others.
