Ogun State Police arrests three men for gang-raping a girl and filming the crime

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three suspects for allegedly gang-raping a girl and filming the act to frighten the girl.


The three suspects identified as Oluwaseun Damilohun 20; Oriyomi Damilohun,19; and Oluwasegun Idowu,18; reportedly ambushed the victim on her way to a stream in Abiodun village, in Ifo Local Government Area.


The suspects were said to have threatened the victim that they would upload the video on the internet if she reported them.


The Ogun State Police Spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the incident on Thursday said the suspects were arrested shortly after they committed the crime.


“One Alimi Olasunkanmi, an administrative officer of So-Safe Corps, reported that while the victim went to take her bath at Odo-pata stream, at Pata Abiodun village, in the Ifo LGA, around 10am, the three suspects ambushed and dragged her forcefully into a nearby bush, where they took turns to have sex with her,” Oyeyemi said per Punch.


“While the devilish act was going on, one of them was video recording it with a threat that if the victim dared to report them, they would upload it on the Internet.”


“Upon receiving the report at the Police Station, the DPO Ifo Division, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle, led detectives to the scene, where the suspects were arrested.”


Oyeyemi said the suspects confessed to committing the crime and the victim was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.


The  Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for diligent prosecution.
