Ogun State Police arrest four over mayhem in Ijebu-Igbo motor park
The Ogun State Police Command have arrested four people for invading and causing mayhem in Ijebu–Igbo motor park in Ijebu North Local Government Area.
The suspects were identified as Kabiru Kazeem, Abiodun Yusuf, Adewale Adesina, and Busayo Adesanya. The four suspects and others on the run allegedly injured one person and destroyed 25 vehicles at the park.
They were also responsible for vandalizing other properties in the hour-long mayhem before they were successfully dispersed by the police who subsequently arrested four among them.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the arrest saying the Divisional Police Officer for Ijebu–Igbo Police Division, Kazeem Solotan mobilised his officers to the park when the attack was ongoing.
“The Police received a distress call that hoodlums had stormed the park with dangerous weapons, they were also attacking people as well as destroying vehicles and other valuable properties within the park,” Abimbola said.
“The injured person has been taken to hospital for treatment while the Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, has directed that those arrested should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department(SCIID) for thorough investigation.
“He also directed that those who were directly or remotely involved in the pandemonium but on the run must be hunted and brought to book.”
