Ogun State Government unveils plans to celebrate 45th anniversary of state creation
The Ogun State Government is set to have a year-long celebration for the 45th anniversary of the creation of the Gateway State.
Ogun State was created by former Head of State, General Murtala Muhammed from the old Western State on February 3, 1976.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Odusile disclosed that the year-long celebration will start on Wednesday but it will be low-key because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Wednesday’s celebration will begin with a statewide broadcast by Governor Dapo Abiodun in the morning. A virtual colloquium themed “Ogun State: The Legacy of a Great Future” will follow and the lead paper at the conference will be presented by retired Permanent Secretary and renowed scholar of public administration, Professor Tunji Olaopa.
Various school competitions and commissioning of landmark projects across the state are also expected to take place in the course of the year.
