Ogun East Senatorial election declared inconclusive
The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] have declared the Ogun East Senatorial District inconclusive due to over-voting.
Several reports claimed that returning officer for the District, Professor Chris Nwoka made the declaration in Ijebu-Ode on Monday after the number of voters in one of the wards exceeded the number of accredited voters.
It was claimed that APC’s Senator Mustapha Olalekan had 84,929 votes while his rival from PDP, Sosanwo Ayola garnered 82457 votes across nine local government areas votes before the cancellation of the entire results in Ward 10, Ajebandele in Ijebu East LGA.
Meanwhile, the broadsheets have been sent to INEC’s office in Abeokuta where they are expected to be sorted out.
