NYSC sanctions 28 corpers, discharges 4,250 in Ogun State
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has discharged 4,250 corpers and sanctioned 28 others with an extension of service and remobilisation for service.
During a low-key passing out parade in Abeokuta, the NYSC Co-ordinator for Ogun State, Belinda Faniyi disclosed that out of the batch B stream 1 corpers deployed, 4250 were discharged after completing their one-year obligatory service in the state.
“Some corps members definitely will have their service extended and some depending on the severity of their cases,” Faniyi said per Punch.
“Some of them for remobilisation, maybe because they were not at their places of primary assignments for three months. That is abscondment.”
However, Some of the discharged members who were unable to attend the event because of the pandemic were told that they could pick up their certificate after the interstate travel ban has been lifted.
