New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) slams Governor Abiodun as bridge collapses less than a year after construction
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Ogun State chapter has reacted to the collapse of the Adigbe-Opako Bridge that was washed away by heavy rain in Abeokuta over the weekend.
The bridge which was built by Governor Abiodun’s administration in 2019 broke down barely a year after its construction.
The Governor had earlier promised the residents of the state that flooding would become a thing of the past on the Adigbe-Obada road. However, the bridge caved in during heavy rainfall in Abeokuta.
The NNPP chairman in Ogun State, Comrade Olaposi Oginni, attributed the collapse of the bridge as incompetence on the Government’s part. He said there is need for Governor Abiodun to apologise to the people of Ogun State over ‘his incompetence and lackadaisical attitude to governance’.
“This is the clear testimony of the fraudulent and substandard road constructions of Gov. Dapo Abiodun’s administration, Oginni said according to DailyPost.
“I think Gov. Abiodun needed to apologise to the good people of Ogun State for his incompetence and lackadaisical attitude to Governance.
“Are we not vindicated that Gov. Abiodun’s administration is not qualified to access the outrageous N250 billion loan?
“It’s unfortunate that this administration is putting the infrastructural development of Ogun State in Reverse Gear.
“Ogun people are to continue praying to God for a better and new Governor come 2023. We are to endure this cluelessness for next two and a half years.”
