Governor Ibikunle Amosun returns to Senate
Governor Ibikunle Amosun has been declared the winner for Ogun Central Senatorial District.
INEC’s returning officer, Professor Ayinde Akanbi made the announcement in the early hours of Monday – two days after the election, at the state’s collation center situated at the Centenary Hall, Ake, Abeokuta.
The incumbent State Governor polled 88,110 votes to see off the challenge from his closest rival Tunji Oseni-Gomez of the African Democratic Congress [ADC], who had 37,101 votes.
PDP’s Solomon Sanyaolu followed suit after garnering 33,276 votes while Gbenga Adenmosun of the Allied People’s Movement had 10,039 votes.
Governor Amosun is now set for a second term in the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly after representing his district earlier in 2003.
