Governor Dapo Abiodun discusses benefits of Lagos-Ogun partnership

Governor Dapo Abiodun highlighted the importance of the proposed Lagos-Ogun Joint Commission during the October edition of the Nigeria-South Africa Chamber of Commerce (NSACC) breakfast meeting on Thursday.

 

During a panel discussion his Lagos counterpart Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, Governor Abiodun emphasised on the possibilities of strengthening the partnership on transportation, water resources, security and education between Lagos and Ogun State.

 

The Lagos-Ogun Commission is set to coordinate border activities between the two states amongst other issues that will be driven by the Deputy Governors.

 

They both singled out Edo State as a template for developing the education, through a peer review mechanism that adopts a technology-based, robust learning environment for students.

 

On the economy and transportation, Governor Sanwoolu explained that both Lagos and Ogun States are currently discussing plans of addressing border roads that are federal highways like Lagos-Abeokuta and Shagamu-Ikorodu and also lauded that the current border closure in the country for helping the economy on all fronts.

 

 


Discussing infrastructure, Sanwoolu informed the stakeholders present that the Lagos State is planning to raise a fresh capital of N250bn to address infrastructure issues.
