Governor Ibikunle Amosun hosted the Presidential Committee on Flood Assessment who visited Ogun state to access the extent of damage of the recent flash flood in the state.
Chairman of the Presidential Committee, Prof. Emmanuel Adanu after visiting the Oke-Mosan officer, said the committee would access the technical profile of the rivers and make recommendations to the Federal Government, in accordance with its mandate.
Adanu disclosed that his team visited Odo-Eran, Oke-Lantoro, Ogun River and other affected areas, assured that necessary action will be taken as soon as the committee submits its reports.
The state Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Bolaji Oyeleye concluded that necessary data has been collected for analysis and recommendations and that the team also advised on how to convert such volume of flood into positive use, assuring that measures will be taken to prevent future occurrence.
