Governor Abiodun promises investigation of SARS brutality after death of Remo Stars defender

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has called for an independent investigation after Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) caused the death of Remo Stars defender Tiamiyu Kazeem on Saturday.

 

Governor Abiodun mourned the death of the Sky Blues’ vice-captain on Sunday, after he was informed about the incident around his untimely death in Sagamu.

 

In his statement, he assured protesting residents in Sagamu to remain calm and reinstated his administration’s commitment to securing lives and properties in Ogun State.

 

Governor Abiodun also noted that the erring SARS officers found guilty in the investigation will be punished.

 

“I have been informed about the tragic passing of Tiamiyu Kazeem AKA Kaka, who was until his death, a player with Remo Stars,” Governor Abiodun tweeted.

 

“I want to personally assure everyone that we are on top of the case, and we will be launching an independent investigation that will ensure everyone found culpable is brought to book.

 

“I urge everyone to be calm and orderly, while we look into the matter. Rest assured, we will never take lightly any matter relating to the security of lives and property of citizens and residents of the Ogun State.”
