Four dead, two injured in Oru/Ago-Iwoye road accident
A collision between a DAF truck and a commercial bus has claimed the lives of four people, leaving two other people critically injured.
The accident happened around 1.15pm at Oru/Ago Iwoye Road when the truck heading towards Ijebu-Ode from Ibadan axis rammed into the bus going to Ibadan.
According to Vanguard, the truck which was overspeeding lost control, veered off its lane and rammed into the commercial bus loaded with Kolanut, in the opposite direction.
The fatalities include three adult females and a male while the injured were two males, the truck driver and a passenger.
TRACE Public Relations Officer, Babatunde Akinbiyi who confirmed the incident disclosed that the scene would have turned rowdy as a mob action almost set the truck ablaze but for the timely intervention of men of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps TRACE, and the Nigeria Police and Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC.
The dead bodies were deposited at the morgue of Ijebu-Ode General Hospital while the injured were taken to the general hospital for treatment.
