
Emir of Kano meets Obasanjo, Governor Abiodun and Alake of Egbaland
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero paid a historic visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and the Alake of Egbaland Oba Adedotun Gbadebo in Abeokuta.
The Emir visited the Alake in his palace, while former President Obasanjo and Governor Abiodun hosted the Northern leader at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library and Governor’s office ,Oke-Mosan respectively.
According to a statement by the media aide to the monarch, Lai Labode, the Emir told Alake that his late father and Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, had always spoken to him about the greatness and friendliness of the Egba people.
“He described Egbaland as the habitat of a people with glorious history and pedigree since it was founded in1830,” the statement read.
“Ado Bayero also noted that he was aware that Kano and Northerners in Abeokuta were happy and doing their businesses without harassment or discomfort of any kind, adding that Abeokuta and Kano shared some historical identities.
“In his response, Oba Gbadebo told the Emir and his entourage that, they were always welcomed into any part of Egbaland.
