Eight passengers burnt to death in Saapade area of Ogun State
Eight people were burnt to death in a road accident which involved a Mazda passenger bus around Saapade bridge in the Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
On Sunday, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ahmed Umar, confirmed the accident occurred around 8:45pm on Saturday after one of the bus’ tyre burst.
Eleven people were reportedly involved in the accident – three males, one female, a child and six others unidentified and Fire Service operatives from Sagamu were immediately called for joint rescue operations while three victims were rushed to Idera Hospital, Sagamu for medical attention.
“The suspected cause of the lone accident involving the Mazda bus marked AAA 249 VX was tyre burst which led to the loss of control then crash and the bus went into flames immediately,” Umar said.
