Coronavirus: Ogun State Government postpones lockdown directive till Friday
Ogun State Government has postponed the lockdown directive given by President Muhammadu Buhari, from midnight of Monday 30, March till Friday, April 3.
Governor Dapo Abiodun disclosed this while addressing residents of the state shortly after inspecting the 128-bed isolation centre located within the premises of HID Awolowo Model School, Ikenne Remo.
Abiodun said he consulted with President Buhari on the need to extend the 14-day lockdown directive in the overall interest of the people of the state.
“Our Government will be using the period between now and Friday to finalise modalities on how to reach vulnerable people and the needy with stimulus packages that include mainly food items,” Governor Abiodun said.
“The presidential order, however, implies that the interstate and international border closure I earlier ordered now takes effect from 11pm today, March 30.”
