Coronavirus: Ogun State Football Association warns organisers of football competitions
The Ogun State Football Association (OGSFA) has issued a stern warning to organisers of football competitions to desist from staging any match until the ban on contact games are lifted.
Despite warnings from the Federal and State Governments through the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, some individuals are still engaging in football activities across Ogun State.
A board member of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, during an interview with Sport writers in Abeokuta, said organisers of football competitions should not see the gradual ease of coronavirus lockdown as a signal to play football without the directive of football bodies.
Alhaji Majekodunmi further explained that the Nigeria Football Federation and Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports have not lifted the embargo on contact games, hence, the need for the organisers to abide by the directive to avoid consequences.
