coronavirus: Infected Italian visited Ogun State
The first case of coronavirus in Nigeria has been confirmed by the Federal Ministry of Health in a statement issued in the early hours of Friday.
The Italian confirmed to have been infected with coronavirus was on a visit to Ogun State before symptoms of the deadly disease were observed in him.
The Commissioner of Health of Ogun State, Tomi Coker disclosed that the Italian visited a giant manufacturing company – Lafarge, in Ewekoro community, adding that the facility visited has since been quarantined in accordance with health safety standards.
She advised the residents of the state to regularly wash their hands, avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands, cover their mouth and nose while sneezing or coughing and report to the nearest health center if they notice any sign of cold, cough and respiratory difficulty.
