Coronavirus: Governor Abiodun assures Ogun State students adequate welfare
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured students of the state of adequate welfare in the form of relief packages to help them get through the lockdown period.
The Governor gave this assurance while distributing relief materials to some students of Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Igbesa in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area.
Governor Abiodun, who was represented by his Special Assistant on Students’ Matters, Azeez Adeyemi, said the state government is concerned about the welfare of students.
He said the government would ensure that the students enjoy dividends of democracy by all means, and therefore urged them to always express their views, opinions and thoughts on how the state could better fight the spread of Covid-19.
Adeyemi further explained that the ongoing distribution of palliatives to students who were stranded across tertiary institutions in the state was to cushion the effects of the hardship caused by the lockdown in the state.
He also assured the students that their opinion would be taken to consideration whenever any decision was being made by the State Executive Council or the COVID-19 Taskforce.
Governor Abiodun said his administration was committed to improving the education sector in the state, and students remain the key factor to returning the lost glory of the sector.
