Coronavirus: Civil Defence arrests four bikers for riding to Ogun State from Niger State
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ogun State arrested four young men for riding four motorcycles to Ogun State from Niger State, despite inter-state travel ban imposed by the Federal Government.
The Corps commandment, Mr. Hammed Abodurin while parading the suspects in Abeokuta, said they were intercepted at Oke-Ilewo around 10:30am on Tuesday for violating the state lockdown rules and for being in the public without using face masks and riding unregistered motorcycles.
“Further interrogation showed that the youths who are from Niger State with their motorcycles. They claimed to have boarded a truck conveying foodstuff from Kotangora to Lagos, alighted at Ogere and continued the journey with their motorbikes to Abeokuta where they were arrested,” Abodunrin was quoted by the Nation.
The commandant said the suspects would be handed over to the State Mobile Court while they will be sanctioned appropriately for violating the total lockdown and ban on inter-state travel.
