Coronavirus: 8,000 health workers enrolled for life insurance in Ogun State

Ogun State Government has enrolled about 8,000 health workers for life insurance to boost their morale in the fight against coronavirus.

 

Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration took the decision to cover frontline health workers who face enormous risk in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

“We’ve enrolled over 8,000 health workers for life insurance to further motivate & secure the frontline workers combating the Covid-19 pandemic in the State, in line with the State House of Assembly’s resolution for insurance for health workers,” the State Government tweeted.

 


As of Friday, Ogun State discharged two patients, taking the total recoveries to 69 while 11 cases were confirmed by the NCDC which increased the tally to 79 active cases out of the 145 confirmed cases so far.

 

Meanwhile. Governor Abiodun has announced the extension of the lockdown directive in the state to curb the spread of the virus that has paralysed several activities since March.
