Coronavirus: 135 lockdown violators convicted in Sagamu mobile court
135 persons have been convicted by a mobile court in Sagamu Local Government Area for allegedly violating the lockdown directive by the Ogun State Government in its effort to contain the spread of coronavirus.
According to Daily Trust, the violators were charged to court for deliberately failing to comply with the lockdown directive issued by the state and federal government.
The offenders all pleaded guilty, praying the court to temper justice with mercy.
Out of the 135 offenders, 11 were discharged by Magistrate Adebakin Soyoye, while the remaining 124 were asked to pay a fine of 1000 naira or perform an hour of community service of which 73 paid and 51 performed community service.
