‘A colossal loss to all of us in Ogun State’ – Senator Amosun mourns Hon. Yinka Mafe
Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has described the sudden death of former lawmaker Hon. Asiwaju Yinka Mafe as ‘a great loss’ to the Gateway State.
Hon. Mafe died on Tuesday night, the day he celebrated his 46th birthday in Sagamu with the cause of his death yet to be ascertained.
The two-term lawmaker was the former Majority Leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly and Senator Ibikunle Amosun who is currently representing Ogun Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly has expressed shock over his demise.
“His death is a colossal loss to all of us in Ogun State, and it saddens my heart that Hon. Mafe had to succumb to the cold hands of death, on the night of his 46th birthday, a day that was supposed to be one of his joyous days,” the statement read.
“Yinka Mafe will be greatly missed in the political landscape of Ogun State; he belonged to the category of selfless young Nigerians whose passion for selfless service, and for the growth and development of Ogun State and Nigeria, was exemplary.”
